Cheesy Chicken Garlic Wraps

Instructions:

  1. Make the garlic cheese sauce:
In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a light roux.
  2. Whisk in milk and cream:
Slowly add milk and cream, whisking constantly until smooth. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes, until the sauce begins to thicken.
  3. Add cheese and seasoning:
Stir in cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and parsley. Mix until cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Combine with chicken:
Stir the cooked chicken into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Assemble the wraps:
Spoon the chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla. Fold in the sides and roll tightly like a burrito.
  6. Toast the wraps:
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place each wrap seam-side down and toast for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  7. Serve:
Slice in half and serve immediately, garnished with extra herbs or sauce if desired.

Variations:

  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack for a spicier kick.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or cooked bacon to the filling.
  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • For a low-carb option, serve the filling over rice or inside lettuce cups.

Tips:

  • If your sauce thickens too much, whisk in a splash of milk to loosen it.
  • Toast wraps in a pan with a little butter for a richer crust.
  • Let the wraps rest 1 minute after toasting to help them hold their shape when sliced.
