Instructions:
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until thin and pliable.
- Place one cheese stick or several strips of cheese along one edge of each bread slice, then roll up tightly like a cigar.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each rollup, coating all sides.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place rollups seam-side down and cook, turning every 2–3 minutes, until all sides are golden and crispy. Work in batches if necessary.
- Serve immediately while hot and melty, with marinara or ranch dipping sauce on the side.
Variations :
- Spicy Kick: Add crushed red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
- Stuffed Twist: Add a thin layer of pepperoni or ham before rolling.
- Italian Style: Swap garlic powder for Italian seasoning or add a pinch of oregano.
- Herb Upgrade: Use fresh chopped herbs like basil or chives in place of dried parsley.
- Mini Version: Cut bread in half before rolling for bite-sized party snacks.
Tips :
- Use day-old or slightly dry bread—it flattens more easily and crisps up better.
- Make sure the skillet isn’t too hot, or the bread may burn before the cheese melts.
- For an extra crispy exterior, bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes after pan-frying.
- Keep rollups warm in a low oven if serving a crowd.
- Serve with multiple dipping options to suit different tastes.
