Instructions:
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the dill pickle juice and sweetener, if using. Warm just enough to dissolve the gelatin, not boil.
- Gradually sprinkle in the unflavored gelatin, whisking constantly to avoid clumps. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from heat. If desired, add a drop of green food coloring and stir to distribute evenly.
- Carefully pour the liquid into gummy worm molds using a spouted measuring cup or dropper for precision.
- Place the molds in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or until the gummies are set and firm.
- Once set, gently pop the gummy worms out of the molds. Serve cold and enjoy the surprise!
Variations :
- Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of chili powder or a slice of pickled jalapeño while warming the juice for a spicy twist.
- Sweet & Tangy: Increase the honey or sugar to 2 tablespoons for a more candy-like finish.
- Pickle Shot Jellies: Turn this recipe into pickle juice shots by pouring the mixture into mini cups instead of molds.
Tips :
- Use silicone molds with deep grooves to mimic the look of real gummy worms.
- For the smoothest texture, let the gelatin bloom in a small portion of the juice before heating.
- Store gummies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
- These are fantastic as gag gifts, party favors, or bizarre snacks for pickle lovers.
- Don’t boil the juice—high heat can affect the gelatin’s setting properties and dull the flavor.
