Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread butter on each English muffin half and place on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese and top with bacon or sausage.
- Crack one egg onto each muffin half.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the egg whites are set and yolks are slightly runny (or to your preference).
- Garnish with parsley or chives before serving.
Variations:
- Use Canadian bacon or ham instead of sausage or bacon.
- Swap in pepper jack or Swiss cheese for a flavor twist.
- Add sautéed peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for a veggie-loaded option.
Tips:
- For easier assembly, cook the eggs slightly in a skillet before placing them on the muffins—this ensures they don’t overflow.
- Toast the English muffins lightly before topping to keep them extra crispy.
- Make-ahead option: prepare and assemble the muffins the night before, then bake in the morning.
