Instructions:
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt dark chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Warm raspberry jam slightly and stir in a drop of red food coloring if desired. Drizzle over the fudge and swirl lightly with a knife to create a blood-red moon effect.
- Chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Variations
- Cherry moon: Use cherry preserves instead of raspberry jam for a deeper red hue and sweeter taste.
- Haunted crunch: Stir in crushed chocolate cookies or nuts for added texture.
- Layered look: Pour half the fudge into the pan, add a raspberry swirl, then top with the rest of the fudge and more swirls for a double-blood effect.
- Adults-only treat: Mix a splash of raspberry liqueur into the jam before swirling.
Tips
- For clean cuts, use a sharp knife dipped in hot water and wiped dry between slices.
- Don’t over-swirl the jam—it looks best with bold streaks that mimic eerie red clouds.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
- Add a touch of edible glitter or silver dust just before serving for an otherworldly finish.
