Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
- Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding to create a light, creamy filling.
- In clear cups, layer crushed Oreos on the bottom, followed by the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with Oreo crumbs on top to resemble dirt.
- Use gel icing or an edible marker to write “RIP” (or other spooky messages) on Milano cookies. Insert one into each cup like a tombstone.
- Decorate with gummy worms, candy pumpkins, and candy bones to complete the graveyard look.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Variations
- Pumpkin patch cups: Add candy pumpkins and green icing “vines” for a pumpkin patch theme.
- Ghostly cups: Top with marshmallow ghosts or white chocolate-covered pretzels shaped like bones.
- Layered flavors: Use vanilla or butterscotch pudding for a lighter contrast with the dark cookie crumbs.
- Boozy version: For adults, stir a splash of Baileys or Kahlúa into the pudding.
Tips
- Crush Oreos in a food processor for fine crumbs, or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Use clear cups to show off the spooky layers. Plastic wine glasses or mason jars work beautifully.
- Make these up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Let kids decorate their own cups with toppings — it makes for a fun party activity.
- Add a few toy spiders, skeleton hands, or bats around the cups for a creepy party display.
