Loaded Surf & Turf Fries

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the fries according to package instructions or your preferred method, baking until golden and crispy.
  2. While the fries cook, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat slightly. Add butter and minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove from heat.
  5. Once fries are ready, transfer them to an oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Sprinkle evenly with shredded cheese and place under the broiler for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately top with the cooked steak and shrimp.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with sour cream or ranch on the side.

Variations :

  • Spicy Kick: Add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of sriracha over the top before serving.
  • Tex-Mex Style: Swap the cheese for a Mexican blend and top with pico de gallo and guacamole.
  • BBQ Twist: Replace garlic butter with a smoky barbecue sauce and use smoked brisket instead of steak.
  • Loaded Breakfast: Add a fried egg on top for a brunch-worthy version.

Tips :

  • For even crispier fries, use an air fryer or double-fry your homemade fries.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain juices before slicing.
  • Use pre-cooked shrimp to cut down on cooking time—just reheat with garlic butter.
  • Shred your own cheese for better melting and flavor; pre-shredded varieties can have anti-caking agents that affect texture.
  • Assemble quickly and serve immediately to keep the fries crisp under the toppings.
