Instructions:
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Brush or drizzle the maple syrup over the cooked bacon and set aside.
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place 2 slices of bread, butter side down, in a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Layer with half the cheese, the maple bacon, then the remaining cheese.
- Top with the other bread slices, butter side up.
- Grill until golden brown on the first side, about 3–4 minutes. Flip carefully and cook another 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crisp.
- Slice in half and serve warm.
Variations :
- Use smoked cheddar for a deeper, bolder flavor.
- Swap maple syrup for hot honey for a spicy-sweet twist.
- Try sourdough or brioche bread for a richer bite.
Tips :
- Cook over medium-low heat to allow the cheese to melt without burning the bread.
- Press lightly with a spatula while grilling for even toasting.
- For an extra indulgent sandwich, add a thin layer of cream cheese beneath the cheddar.
