Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese Burrito

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Veggies
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and green peppers and cook until tender and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes. Push them to one side of the skillet.
  2. Cook the Steak
Add the sliced steak to the other side of the skillet. Season with salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Mix everything together and remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Burritos
Lay out each tortilla. Place two slices of cheese in the center, followed by a generous portion of the steak and vegetable mixture. Fold in the sides and roll into a burrito.
  4. Grill the Burritos
Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Butter the outside of each burrito and place seam side down in the skillet. Grill 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve
Let rest for a minute or two before slicing in half. Serve hot with optional sauces or sides.

Variations:

  • Swap provolone with pepper jack for a spicy kick.
  • Add mushrooms or jalapeños for more texture and heat.
  • Use garlic aioli or spicy mayo as a spread inside the burrito.

Tips:

  • For restaurant-style results, press the burrito gently with a spatula while grilling.
  • If using deli steak, warm it gently to avoid overcooking.
  • Wrap leftovers in foil and reheat in the oven for a crispy second round.
