Pineapple Bacon BBQ Burger

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place patties on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. While burgers are cooking, fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  5. After 10 minutes, flip the patties. Top each with a slice of cheese and a pineapple ring. Return to the oven for another 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the patties are fully cooked.
  6. During the last few minutes, toast the burger buns directly on the oven rack until golden.
  7. Remove patties from the oven, brush each one with BBQ sauce, and begin assembling: bottom bun, burger with pineapple and cheese, 2 slices of bacon, more BBQ sauce, and any additional toppings.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Variations :

  • Spicy Twist: Use pepper jack cheese and add sliced jalapeños for heat.
  • Hawaiian Style: Add a slice of ham beneath the pineapple for a fuller island flavor.
  • Vegetarian Option: Substitute beef patties with plant-based burger patties and use vegetarian bacon.
  • Grilled Version: Cook patties and pineapple slices on the grill instead of baking for a smokier taste.

Tips :

  • For a caramelized edge, lightly brush pineapple rings with BBQ sauce and sear them in a hot skillet before adding to the burgers.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet—allow space between patties for even cooking.
  • Use a thick and tangy BBQ sauce for a bold flavor that stands out.
  • Toasting the buns enhances texture and prevents sogginess from the sauce and toppings.
