Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. - Cook Meat:
In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage or beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Stir in pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes. - Layer the Pizzagna:
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the baking dish.
Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Layer with ⅓ of the ricotta, meat sauce, mozzarella, provolone, pepperoni, peppers, onions, and olives.
Repeat two more layers, ending with cheeses and topping with Parmesan. - Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. - Cool and Serve:
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley.
Variations:
- Veggie Lovers: Use sautéed mushrooms, spinach, and artichokes instead of meat.
- Meat Lover’s: Add cooked bacon, ham, or salami for more meaty layers.
- Spicy Kick: Sprinkle red pepper flakes between layers or add sliced jalapeños.
Tips:
- Letting the pizzagna rest before slicing helps the layers set, making serving easier.
- Use pre-shredded pizza cheese blend for added convenience and flavor.
- If using oven-ready noodles, make sure the sauce is slightly more saucy to ensure they cook through properly.
