Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine baked beans, root beer, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well mixed.
- Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle cooked, crumbled bacon over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour, or until bubbly and thickened.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Variations :
- Add sautéed onions and bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
- Swap Dijon mustard with yellow mustard for a classic tang.
- Use maple-flavored bacon for a sweet-smoky upgrade.
Tips :
- Avoid diet root beer—it won’t caramelize properly.
- If you prefer a thicker texture, bake for an additional 10–15 minutes.
- Make ahead and reheat before serving; the flavor deepens overnight.
