Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Lay wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center, followed by 1/2 teaspoon strawberry jam.
- Brush edges of wrapper with egg wash, fold into a triangle or desired shape, and press edges firmly to seal.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Variations :
- Use raspberry, blueberry, or peach jam for a fruity twist.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon to the cream cheese filling for warmth.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate or white chocolate before serving for extra indulgence.
Tips :
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy wontons.
- Seal edges well to prevent the filling from leaking during frying.
- For a lighter option, bake instead of frying—brush with butter and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes.
